PRACTICE FACILITY
Since the eighteen month drought of last year we have worked very hard to get our greens in good shape. We have been able to see a great improvment in the amount of grass that we have on the greens. We are hoping that as the cooler weather approaches we will be able to cut the greens just a little shorter. Winter overseeding will happen for us as it does with most facilities somewhere in mid October.
On the course, we have been able to work on our bunkers this summer. We now have some good sand in the bunkers and they are draining much better. We are asking everyone to please be sure to rake the bunkers after you have been in them.
We continue to plant trees and those planted this summer should take off this spring and provide some needed shade and protection from errant shots. We also have been doing some beautification programs with plants and garden areas on the course.
This year we will have a mixture of Nike and Top Flite range balls to test them since both have changed the way they are produced and the type of coatings used. We want to continue to have the best balls in DFW.

The Golf Institute has it's new class and clinic schedule available for Spring and Summer 09. The new calendar runs through the month of August. We continue to offer quality golf eduation for all ages and skill levels. Swing clinics are one time class sessions usually lasting for 1 hour. The Saturday Swing Clinic and Tuesday evening Specialty Clinics for adults are held weekly and advanced registration is necessary. The class sizes are limited to 5 students to 1 instructor as a maximum. The cost of the clinics are $40.00 and $45.00 per person, per session and INCLUDES the practice balls hit during the lesson time. We also have Junior Swing Clinics held on Saturday mornings from 9-10 am. We limit the class size to 6 students to 1 instructor as a maximum. Advanced reservations must be made for the students to attend. The cost of these clinics are $25.00 per person, per session, or a series of 4 clinics for $85.00. A BUILDING FOR JUNIOR GOLF It is the goal of the DALLAS JUNIOR GOLF FOUNDATION to build a building at our Golf Center exclusively for the use of Junior Golf Programs. Although Junior golf is growing faster than any other part of golf, there is nowhere in the Metroplex for these programs to have for their use and needs. We presently host the USGA/LPGA GIRLS CLUB OF DALLAS (the largest in the nation); the SCOTTISH RITE "LEARN TO GOLF" program; NTPGA Junior Tournaments, 13 Middle and High School golf programs for practice, and others.
The Foundation is attempting to raise the money for the building privately since no golf organizations will provide the funds for a building structure. Once the building is built, there are any number of foundations which will help provide funds to hire a Director, instructors, etc to develope the Junior Golfer. If you are interested in helping, please contact Dick Washmon at the Facility.
